What is an On-line book?

An online book is a resource in book - like form that is only available to read online. It differs from the common idea of an ebook, which is usually available to download and read locally or on an ebook reader. 

Online Book (an eBook) is an electronic version of a traditional print book that can be read by using a personal computer or by using an eBook reader.

Readers can purchase online book (an eBook) on diskette or CD, but the most popular method of getting an eBook is to purchase a downloadable file of the eBook (or other reading material) from a Web site to be read from the reader's computer or reading device. Thus the reader's experience is similar to reading a printed book, except that the book is read at a computer and is only accessible while the reader is online.

Typically, an eBook reader hand-held device weighs light and can store from four thousand to over half a million pages of text and graphics. A popular feature is its back-lit screen (which makes reading in the dark possible).

Some eBooks can be downloaded for free or at reduced cost. Yet, prices for many online books; especially best sellers are similar to those of hard-cover books and are sometimes higher. Most eBooks are comparable in price to their traditional print versions.
